Happy New Year? I know this seems like a strange way to begin a September’s Pastor’s Corner but here is the reason for it. As Labor Day marks the unofficial end of the summer, it also ushers in the beginning of the new church year. Vacations are coming to an end; students are preparing to return to school and our church is in the process of restarting all of the ministries that have been on summer break.
Following our annual Welcome Back Luncheon, we will see the return of all of the ministries that have been on vacation. This includes the return of our Choir, our monthly Jazz Vespers, Sunday School, and both of our Bible Study classes.
As we have learned from the book of Ecclesiastes chapter 3 verse 1 which states, “For everything there is a season and a time for every matter under heaven:” the time has come for us to begin the new church year. But with all of that being said, we are in need of one very important thing to get this church year going.
We need you!
Without you, the Choir will have no one to sing to. Without you, our Pastors and the Jazz Musicians will have no one to worship with. Without you, our Sunday School Teachers will have no one to teach. And without you coming to one, or both of the Bible Study classes, our Pastors will not have anyone to share their years of research and study with.
So, accept this as an invitation to come back and be a part of the wonderful things this church year will bring.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
Love & Blessings,
Pastor Dwayne
